MASON, Tenn. (WMC) - Residents in Mason, Tennessee, are going on day two of no water Thursday as freezing temperatures persist throughout the Mid-South.

According to the Mason Fire Department, a weather-related electrical problem at the water plant caused a loss in water pressure.

On Thursday, fire officials provided an update saying Alliance completed repairs to a broken line in the Main Street area and will be bringing in additional resources to assist with the weather-related water issues.

Alliance will also be searching for additional breaks in the system.

Water outages are estimated to persist through Thursday night. It’s unknown at this time how much longer outages will persist.

Due to the repairs, a 48-hour Boil Water Alert has been issued to all customers for when their water is restored.

Action News 5 will provide updates.
