MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The #13 Memphis Tigers dismantled the Wichita State Shockers 112-86 as the Tigers knocked down a program record 19 three-pointers.

The win is Memphis’ 10 straight win, and it moves the Tigers to 15-2 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.

The story of this game was Jaykwon Walton’s return to Wichita State as he played for the Shockers last season. Walton scored 23 points including a career-high 6 three-pointers.

Jahvon Quinerly finished with his first double-double of the season with 23 points and 11 assists.

David Jones scored 19 points, with 17 of them coming in the second half.

Six Tigers players finished in double figures.

The first half was as close as it could get as the largest lead was six points.

Memphis led 49-46 at halftime as the Tigers shot 63 percent form the field including 7 three-pointers.

The Tigers got some much needed support in the first half as Jahvon Quinerly, Jaykwon Walton, and Malcolm Dandridge each were in double figures.

Quinerly led with 13 points at the half, and Jaykwon Walton hit 3 three-pointers to tie his season-high. Nae’Qwan Tomlin also scored 7 points off the bench.

Dalen Ridgnal and Harlond Beverly were both in double figures for Wichita State. Ridgnal scored 13 with all four of his baskets being three-pointers, a career-high for the forward.

David Jones woke up in the second half, coming out 3-for-3 including two three-pointers to score 15 points in the first five minutes.

The Tigers came out strong in the second half, holding a 21-point lead at the 12-minute mark.

Memphis opened up the lead to as much as 27 points as the Tigers turned the game into shootaround, hitting 10 three-pointers in the second half alone.

Wichita State went on an 8-0 run to bring the deficit down to 16 points with 4 minutes remaining, but Jahvon Quinerly would quiet the crowd with a logo three.

The Memphis defense held the Shockers to zero baskets in the final four minutes as they held on to the win thanks to a strong 63 second-half points, a season-high for Memphis.

Memphis will receive their potentially new AP ranking Monday as they travel back home to face South Florida.

The game takes place Thursday night at 6 p.m. on ESPN or ESPN2.
