Shady Grove bridge to close for over 7 months for repairs

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Shady Grove Road overpass at I-240 in East Memphis will close for seven months and two weeks while TDOT crews make repairs to the bridge. I-240 will also be affected.

The closure will begin Wednesday, January 17, and last until August 30.

Activities include repairs to damaged beams, concrete repairs, seismic restraints, milling, and resurfacing.

Detour signs will be in place to utilize Yates, Walnut Grove, and Humphreys Boulevard.

According to TDOT, the contract allows for up to six weekend lane closures on I-240 beneath Shady Grove Road. During these weekend closures, two of the four lanes would remain open.
