Mississippi River at its lowest point in 10 years

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Our prolonged dry weather has resulted in low river levels.

The river stage at Memphis is -7.9 feet as of Tuesday afternoon October 4th.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the Mississippi River was at its lowest in the last 10-years with levels briefly going below -8.1 feet.

The river forecast takes water level up a little through October 9th and then back down by the middle of the month.

Little improvement is expected over the next month as dry weather will persist.
