Accused GameStop burglar arrested, caught through tracker, said police
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A man was arrested after breaking into a Gamestop on Wednesday.
Toreka Reed, 29, is charged with theft of property.
Officers responded to the burglary at 2:47 a.m. at the GameStop on 7539 Winchester Road.
He and seven others are accused of the break-in stealing $6,000 worth of merchandise.
Officers were able to catch him using a tracker in one of the stolen Sony Playstation 5.
Police made the scene and noticed the front door window was broken into.
The store manager spoke with officers and he showed them video footage of eight unknown suspects breaking into the store with a sledgehammer, according to police.
Police say the suspects were driving a Gray GMC truck, a gray Dodge Charger, and a green Dodge Charger.
The suspects stole four Xboxes at $499, one PlayStation worth $499, two Nintendo Switches worth $399, seven controllers worth $75, and miscellaneous things, according to
Video footage showed the suspects wearing various clothing such as black hoodies, red hoodies, black pants, and black and white shoes.
Charges for other suspects are still pending.
