MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis Police Department has arrested and charged a man they say stole from train boxcars in the railyard.
According to MPD, Damon Bond was prowling at the CSX train depot at Chelsea Avenue near Burr Road.
Bond was nabbing boxes from the train with several products in them that belonged to Amazon.
Police say that Bond was a known “train-track prowler” who had been caught in the past.
When he was taken into police custody, he attempted to hide his identity but was recognized by the officers who arrested him.
He is now facing charges for burglary, theft of property, and criminal impersonation for giving the police a false name when he was arrested.
