Man shot after confronting car thieves in driveway
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A man was injured after confronting car thieves in his driveway Wednesday morning.
Police responded to an aggravated assault that involved shots being fired just after 4:00 a.m. at a residence on Royal Knight Drive.
A woman told police that she was sleeping in her room until she heard her neighbor’s car alarm go off.
She then checked her security camera and noticed four men pushing her Infiniti out of the driveway of her home.
The woman’s husband opened the front door to confront the suspects but they began to fire shots at him.
He turned around to go back into the residence but was hit in the left leg twice and then dropped to the floor, according to police.
The woman saw her husband shot and immediately called emergency services.
He was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.
This is an ongoing investigation.
