Man says he is lucky to be alive after tree branch crashes through apartment roof

POTSDAM, New York (WWNY/Gray News) - A university student in New York says he feels lucky to have come out unscathed after a fallen tree punctured his apartment’s roof Tuesday night.
Aiden Hoose is a junior at Clarkson University. He told WWNY that he woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of a tree crashing through his apartment.
Heavy branches from the tree went into his bedroom, just missing his head.
“It [the tree branches] went through the mattress by my head, and it bent the whole frame,” Hoose said. “It would have killed me if it would have hit me in the head.”
Hoose says he decided not to spend the following night at his apartment while repairs are needed.
