MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Yet another cold front pushed through the Mid-South this morning ushering in frigid conditions to end the work week and start the weekend. Temperatures this afternoon will stick in the middle to upper 20s but with a gusty northerly wind it will feel more like the teens. A good mix of sun and clouds through the day will help aid in continual melting efforts. However, with overnight lows still well below freezing over the next few days refreezing concerns are still in play for roads, bridges and overpasses.

TONIGHT: Lows overnight will dip into the low teens with ‘feels like’ temperatures near 0, even into the negatives for some. Expect mostly clear skies with a north wind around 10 mph.

WEEKEND PLANNER: Highs on Saturday will only reach the low 20s, but Sunday we start our warming trend with highs finally above freezing, into the middle 30s. A good amount of sunshine will be into play for Saturday then clouds will filter in and out of the area on Sunday making for partly cloudy skies. Enjoy the dry, yet chilly, weekend as rain chances come back for every day of our next work week.

INTO THE WORK WEEK: Go ahead and find your umbrella and keep it handy. An active pattern emerges into the work week with rounds of rain expected each day. Mostly cloudy skies for Monday with rain holding off until the back half of the day. After Monday skies turn cloudy for the rest of the work week with a few stronger storms in the mix mid to late week.
