MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Extreme cold grips the Mid-South once again as the week comes to a close and the weekend begins and it will feel even cold with wind chills in the single digits to below zero for many areas including Memphis and Shelby County. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY will be in effect from 10 PM tonight until 9 AM Sunday for the entire Action News 5 coverage area. Fortunately, we’ll enjoy more sunshine tomorrow and a warmer pattern will begin taking shape Sunday.

TONIGHT: Mostly Clear and cold with a North wind at 5 to 10 MPH and overnight lows near 10 degrees.

SATURDAY: Mostly Sunny and cold with a North wind at 5 to 10 MPH and afternoon highs in the low 20s.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly Clear and cold with a Northeast wind at 5 to 10 MPH and overnight lows again near 10 degrees.

SUNDAY: Mostly Cloudy with high temperatures in the mid 30s and overnight lows in the upper 20s

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be cloudy with a chance of isolated to widely scattered showers along with highs in the mid 40s and lows near 40. Tuesday will be cloudy with rain along with high temperatures in the lower 50s and overnight lows near 50. Wednesday will be cloudy with rain and a few thunderstorms, highs in the upper 50s, and lows in the lower 50s. Thursday will be cloudy with scattered showers along with high temperatures near 60 and overnight lows in the mid 40s. Friday will be mostly cloudy with afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
