State of Emergency declared in Shelby County due to winter weather

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Shelby County is under a state of emergency as the Mid-South deals with winter weather.
Snowfall began blanketing the Mid-South on Sunday afternoon, falling throughout the evening and on Monday morning.
Some areas have experienced more than five inches of snow.
Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris declared a State of Emergency in response.
Travel conditions remain unsafe with many of the roads across the Mid-South covered in frozen precipitation.
