Patrick Ellis

Patrick Ellis is an Alabama native and a Mississippi State graduate and excited for his new journey in the Mid-South.

He started his journey as an on-air meteorologist in Jackson, MS, doing weekend weather at WeatherVision, while also doing weekend weather at the ABC affiliate in Greenville, MS. Since graduating from State in 2012, he's gone on to work in Greenville and Wilmington, North Carolina and, most recently – another stint in Jackson, Mississippi at WMC’s sister station, WLBT as the morning meteorologist.

In 2023, he was awarded the Mississippi Broadcasters Association award for ‘Best Weather Anchor’ and was nominated for an Emmy for his and the WLBT First Alert Weather team’s coverage of a tornado that came directly over the station in March 2022.

He’s been active, in recent years, with the American Cancer Society’s Men Wear Pink campaign, to support those affected by breast cancer – serving as Central Mississippi’s chairperson, as well as Mississippi’s Toughest Kids and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In his spare time, he likes to travel, run 5Ks, spend time with his family and root on, in the best and worst of times, his alma mater’s Bulldogs and New Orleans Saints.
